Hey Skip, any chance listing the client console commands or adding a link to them. I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested in them or not. Just a thought (I can see skip now....you want what!!!! )

What kind of commands were you thinking? There a TONS of commands. Most of them do mundane things like change settings that are already part of the user interface, like changing the graphics settings and etc. Were you looking for useful stuff? Not many of the settings that you can change client side are all that glamorous, or are just easier to use the UI controls. |

Here are some of the useful client side commands: (all commands need to be entered into the "console" and must be pre-ceded with a / Recording settings: r_clipSize 1080 - resolution to record as r_clipCodec MJPEG - Codec to record as r_clipFPS 24 - number of frames per second to record movie_start MovieNameHere.mpg - Start movie recording movie_stop - stop movie recording Tools: cg_drawFPS 1 1 or 0 to turn on or off. Displays your FPS (Frames Per Second) in the upper right hand corner. The higher your FPS the smoother the game runs, the lower your FPS the choppier the game runs. drawlagometer 1 Creates a graph in the lower left hand corner of your screen. For the top meter in the graph you want it to be mostly blue. Blue means you are refreshing in sync with the server and everything is going good. Yellow is bad, it means you are out of sync with the server. Don’t panic if you have a little bit of yellow, but you still want most of it to be blue. For the bottom meter you want it to be green. Green means your packet transfer is smooth, red and yellow are bad and means your data transfer is flaky. Settings: cl_maxpackets 100 This setting should help those who are experiencing internet lag. If your internet connection is at least as good as 6MB down and 768kb up then you should be fine with this setting. Users with slower speeds will need to set this to a lower number. com_maxfps The is the limiter for your "max frames per second". Defualt is usually 90, but you can limit it lower or higher. You can also set it to no limit by setting it to 0. cg_FOV 80 This changes your visible field of view from 65 degrees to 80 degrees. It essentially moves you back so you can see a wider area. The drawback is that everything then appears smaller. I don’t know if it is better to have a larger FOV, I think it is mostly based on personal preference. r_multiGpu 0 This setting should only be set to "1" if you either a) are running multiple graphics cards in SLI or crossfire or b) are running a single graphics card with multiple GPUs (ie gtx 295 or ATI 5970) snaps 30 This is another network setting but I have found that this value will automatically change back to this default setting. I have not found any performance changes even if you force the setting by making the file read only. r_multithreaded_device 0 Changing this setting to "0" has helped a number of dual core CPU users with the "hitching" issue. For quad core or Hexa(6) core cpu users, you should have this setting to "1" |
