Hello, Before I go and buy a new device, I thought it'd be worth at least asking if my setup is what's causing my issue. A quick overview of my setup: Cable modem comes into an older Time Machine. That connects to a Monoprice 10/100/1000 switch which runs back out to a 2nd generation airport express. I've tested my cables using a tester I picked up from Home Depot. All are 5e and are good according to this device. Because the express is in the living room, our devices tend to be connected to it rather than the time machine. Networking always feels slow—webpages seem to take 10-15 seconds to load—but Speedtest-type apps all report its all in my head. Netflix, our primary TV platform, is hit or miss (it's played on an Appletv hard wired to the airport express). The system was all set up using the airport configuration tool and "extending" the network. When I open that tool, often the AirPort express won't show up, even though I'll be able to access the Internet and the time machine won't show my iPhone connected to it (meaning it's connected to a working express). And, often when trying to AirPlay music through a first generation airport express it will constantly hiccup. Just today I thought to unplug the express (again, or devices seem to connect to it and never drop off to the time machine even when we're right next to it) and when my phone finally reconnected to the network, it played flawlessly. I know this is a long rambling message, but I'm having a hard time understanding where to turn next. I thought testing the cables would give me something, but it didn't. I've tried SpeedyNet to diagnose speeds within my house, but I had no idea what to expect, so it wasn't worth much. Please help I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
