Vacuum brazing means that the workpiece is heated in a vacuum chamber and is mainly used for applications requiring high quality products and easy oxidation of the material. The vacuum brazing furnace comprises a pressure vessel having a cylindrical side wall and a door sized and positioned to close one end of the cylindrical side wall. The workpiece handling system is mounted on a pressure vessel door for supporting a metal workpiece for heat treatment or brazing. The workpiece handling system includes means for rotating the workpiece during processing. The vacuum system can be connected to the workpiece so that the pressure inside the workpiece is below atmospheric pressure during brazing.

Vacuum brazing technology from the four decades to date, has become a very promising welding technology. The earliest appeared in the electronics industry brazing copper and stainless steel parts, and later applied to the aviation industry, the atomic energy industry, in 1959 began to apply to the manufacture of stainless steel plate fin heat exchanger. It is now widely used in plate-fin heat exchangers and coolers in industrial sectors such as air separation equipment, petrochemical equipment, engineering machinery, automobiles, boats and home appliances.
